We stopped by Black Dog Salvage in Roanoke the other day, click here for their link http://blackdogsalvage.com/ or you can see them on the DIY Networks show “Salvage Dawgs” http://www.diynetwork.com/salvage-dawgs/show/index.html, we also stopped by the Roanoke Habitat Re-Store Click here for their site http://www.habitat-roanoke.org/merchandise.php?menu=3 and the Buena Vista Habitat Re-Store Click Here for their site http://www.rockbridgehabitat.org/Buena_Vista__VA.html and the Staunton VA Habitat Re-Store – http://habitatsaw.org/the-habitat-store/. We got allot of great items for our renovations.

We are renovating the entire estate, This property and farm house goes way back to the early 1800’s. The original settlers of this Farm had hundred’s of acres, and there is a Family cemetery at one corner that dates into the mid 1800’s The Farm house is actually a Log Cabin Farm House, if you go into the two attics you can see the huge log beams in the walls. The walls of the oldest part of the house are 2 feet thick which includes the siding that was added in the 1950’s. Although it would cost hundreds of thousands to restore the whole house to its original Log condition which would include adding Logs to the three additions that have been added since it was built, instead we are keeping what is under the siding original and we are vinyl siding the whole house and out buildings. There is also an outside smokehouse, a stone well and two other outside buildings, an old Barn, a Silo that was moved here from another location, a 2000 sq ft. rental house that will be the new studio, the two Poultry Houses, a two story 1800 sq ft work shop and equipment shed, a 10,000 sq ft litter shed and a 2400 sq ft Hay Shed. We are putting in over a mile of new fence and fixing all the old fence, adding a new 40′ x 60′ sheep barn, all new driveways, and completely renovating the outside of the Main House and buildings with new siding, windows, porches, fixing the roofs, outside lighting and landscaping.

We will have before and after pictures and a multi part video program of all our projects and restorations as soon as all the projects are completed. We will edit all the pictures and video into a program and it will be on our Youtube page
